End of Year Update

I wanted to post an end of year update for GF. We had a productive year for such an inactive project.

Our final two podcasts came out, which gives us a wonderfully Birdemic style rounded off 100 episodes. My previous podcast did 50, so GF did double that!

We also put out our first fanzine, which covers Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. As long as sales are good, more issues will be forthcoming. I have some other projects to work on in 2026, but will come back to it at some point.

For our annual holiday post, the official GF Top 100 Modern Era Games (2003-2025) in ABC order will be posted. In 2026, I will work on the ORDERED list. I have a draft of that list, but I am sure some games will move around…

At the end of the year, I will also post my Top 10 games for 2025. It is a true sign of the times that the vast majority of them are reissues of old games.

We are heading into a new era for gaming, one that I want little to do with: AI slop bullshit, higher prices, and the further rise of gambling aspects being added to games has robbed me of the joy of video games. I mostly play old games these days, or reissues of old games, and have little use for things I consider to be Sins against humanity like gambling and AI.
